\nWe slept soundly in Malcolm's comfy spare room, and were then treated to an\nample breakfast of porridge and toast. Spoilt again! He was off apple pressing\nand we needed an early start, so we said our goodbyes and were on our way.
\nWe headed back to route 2, and meandered along some pleasant lanes. A friendly\nchap stopped his car next to us for a chat, warning us that 'Mutton Street'\nwas a long, very steep hill. when we didn't end up on said road, i foolishly\nfelt relieved. Shortly afterwards, the road kicked right up and just kept\ngoing!!
\nAfter the long descent into Axminster, we headed to the station to meet our\nfriend Laura, who had decided to join us for the last leg. And what a lovely\nday we had for it!! The rolling hills down to Seaton seemed a bit brutal to my\ntired legs, but we recovered with chips and a view of the beach. The climb out\nof Beer didn't seem too bad, but coming out of Branscombe was a bit tougher\ndue to some steeper sections.
\nSoon enough, we were at the top of Salcombe Hill, looking down at the\nbeautiful Sid Valley! Nearly home. We sped down the exceptionally steep\nobservatory hill, and headed to the sea front. Quick photo stop before we set\nLaura off towards Feniton Station, then we headed back to Ed's Mum's house.
\nSo that is that! A very strange feeling. We set out as normal, cycled as\nnormal, and now we aren't cycling anymore. Real life beckons!
