The hostel can't even have been half full. Quite the contrast to the\nothers we've stayed in - no complaints though, obviously! We cooked up a feast\nfor breakfast (eggy bread AND a full portion of porridge), and got ready\nslowly so as not to arrive at our warmshowers too early!
\n
Once on our way we headed straight UP once again. We quite wanted to pop to\nDurdle Door, but couldn't quite face a return trip down and then UP, so\ndecided to save it for another time. It was freezing cold, but another perfect\nday with amazing views across beautiful Dorset. It mostly undulated, with one\ndecent climb up to Hardy's monument. Looking on Strava, it doesn't seem too\nbad on paper so maybe we're just tired!! Overall it was a great ride, so do\nfollow our route if you don't mind a few hills :)
\n
https://www.strava.com/activities/1934226924
\n
We eventually made it to Bridport and located Waitrose for wine-buying\npurposes. It was still quite early, so we then took a short detour down to\nWest Bay. It was absolutely stunning in the evening light. Still freezing\nthough, so we headed back into town to find our host.
\n
We are staying with Malcolm, who hosts countless cyclists each year. He has\nspoilt us rotten with a delicious roast veg pasta bake and apple 'grasmere' (a\nbit like crumble). AND Tilly the greyhound accepted my cuddles!
\n
It's only just gone 8pm and my eyes are closing already.
