We have\njust great experience with Warmshowers - I'm really not sure why we don't do\nmore of it!!
\n
It was really cold this morning, with frost everywhere and ice on the cars.\nThe route was much less hilly too, so not as good for warming up! It was\nmostly very lovely, even around Southampton as we followed a bike path along\nthe river for a good stretch.
\n
Things became a lot busier once we entered the New Forest (it's half term\nholidays). We shopped in Lyndhurst, and had to fight through gridlock to\nescape out the other side. The pavements were also rammed. Apparently shopping\nand cafe-culture are the main attractions...in this beautiful national\npark.....
\n
We then took the long route to Burley to avoid riding on the A35, and were\ntreated to some lovely riding. Autumn colours, ponies and quiet roads. That's\nmore like it!
\n
We're staying at the YHA in Burley. It has a lot of glamping, with separate\nfacilities, all of which is very busy. The main hostel is quite calm....at the\nmoment!! The lounge has no TV, and a roaring fire, perfect!
\n
Three more days......
","frontmatter":{"date":null,"path":"/journal/252","title":""}}},"pageContext":{}}}
