It has a spectacular\nsetting across a steep gorge. Add to this a wealth of pretty architecture, and\nit’s quite the looker!
\n
As for today - we followed a bike path right through the city centre on our\nway north. It was very cool to see the city from a lower vantage point! The\ngorge is so pretty too.
\nWe left Eurovelo 5 at some point, but of course didn’t notice as there are no\nsigns for it here. It heads West and misses Holland, hence our deviation.
\n
We continued on bike path along the river for quite a chunk of the day, which\nwas very pleasant indeed. Unfortunately for us, and anyone following in our\nwheeltreads ;) all the climbing comes at the end of the day as you leave one\nriver valley, amble across the lumpy plateau, and finally descend into\nanother. Do not be fooled into assuming Luxembourg is flat!! It was tough but\nabsolutely worth it for the lovely views.
\n
The Sure valley is particularly picturesque, and Esch is a beautiful spot. We\nwere pretty cold and tired when we arrived though! The campsite is of the\nItalian style with lots of permanent caravans, but the tent pitches and\nfacilities were great, and it’s very quiet of course. 18 euros.
","frontmatter":{"date":null,"path":"/journal/236","title":""}}},"pageContext":{}}}
