Now that we really feel like we're heading\nhome, and are actually fairly keen to get there, we decided to divert from\nEurovelo 5 for a couple of days. It really isn't anything like a direct route,\nand the cycling provision is excellent in France anyway!!
\n
So, we followed our own route, which actually rejoined EV5 for a lovely\nsection along a very pretty canal. That part was very flat of course, but we\nsaw a few undulations both before and after!! Long sections on cycle paths and\nthe rest on quiet back roads.
\n
The final approach to the campsite (Les Bouleaux) was a bit busier but very\nshort. It's a lovely spot too, run by a very friendly Dutch guy. And we had\ncamping stove raclette for dinner - try it!!! Par-cooked potatos from the\nsupermarket fridge made it possible, but I reckon tinned would be fine too.
\n
Germany tomorrow!! We're taking a more direct route (than EV5) until just\nbefore Saarbrucken, where we'll hop back on. Hoping to make it 94km to\nSaarlouis and its nice-sounding campsite.
","frontmatter":{"date":null,"path":"/journal/231","title":""}}},"pageContext":{}}}
