It did actually get a lot flatter,\ndownhill in fact, although ended up being quite a bit further than expected.\nWe kept bumping into Sophie which was quite funny! She rides considerably\nfaster than we do!
\nhttps://www.strava.com/activities/1463528872
\n
Beautiful riding once again, despite a drizzly morning. These last few days\nreally have been wonderful - I think the cycling HAS been better, but also\nsuspect we're started to get a bit more into New Zealand. It's been such a\nculture shock coming from 5 months in Asia - western culture is certainly not\nall that.....but we're getting used to it now!
\n
Carterton is a nice little spot. The campground is great - all facilities and\nnice people, $32 for two people per night. We're staying tomorrow too in order\nto do a bit of wine tasting at the nearby vineyards!
\n
So that's it for 'proper' touring for a while. We're heading to Wellington on\nthe train, after which we'll take the boat to Picton, ride a short way to\nTuamarina, then take buses South. Back on the bikes in a few\nweeks.....maybe.......!
","frontmatter":{"date":null,"path":"/journal/154","title":""}}},"pageContext":{}}}
